LEAH BENNETT
Former FSU Centerfielder • Founder
A former FSU Seminole who earned her scholarship after being a preferred walk-on, helped lead the Seminoles to two ACC Championships and two Women's College World Series appearances (2001–2002), and went on to build one of Florida's most respected travel softball programs. Her 18U Gold teams finished No. 9 nationally at ASA Nationals after entering ranked No. 31 — and produced a 100% collegiate signing ratio across five seasons.

Former College Pitcher • Active High School Coach
Founder of Extra Rep Academy and director of Florida Select's Northeast Florida arm. A former college pitcher and active high school softball coach in Northeast Florida. He built ERA's training infrastructure in Ponte Vedra and Jacksonville and coaches one to two Florida Select teams each season — bringing the same individual development standard from ERA onto the competitive travel field.

REEDY GLOD (DAvenport)
Former Clemson Third Base • Active High School Coach
A St. Johns native who started all 61 games for a top-5 nationally ranked Clemson program in 2023 before moving directly into coaching. Top-10 in FGCU program history across seven statistical categories. She brings ACC-level defensive experience and the ability to teach position-specific mechanics from real reps at the highest level of college softball.

FAQ
How much does it cost to play?
Every team budgets differently based on age group, tournament schedule, and travel. All costs are discussed with families before accepting a spot — some coaches charge per tournament, others a flat season fee. There is also a $125 Florida Select organizational fee per player per season. Please discuss all monetary expectations with coaches before accepting a spot.
How many seasons are there?
Florida Select runs two seasons per year — a fall season and a spring/summer season. Each season has its own tournament schedule and dues structure. Players who return for a second season are not re-charged for uniforms.
What does Florida Select look for in a player?
Athletes who love the sport and never need to be told to hustle. Players who are team-first and more focused on making their teammates better than on personal statistics. Good parents who know when to let the coach coach and can enjoy cheering from the stands. Skill can be developed. Character is what we start with.
Can my daughter play another sport?
Absolutely. As long as there is clear communication between family and coach, we work around schedules. Multi-sport athletes are welcome — playing multiple sports helps prevent early burnout. Once we are in full season, Florida Select commitments take priority.
What kind of tournaments do you play?
Each team chooses the power schedule for their age group based on skill set — whether local competition, regional showcases, or national events. We strive to do everything with excellence and play the best competition available. 14U, 16U and 18U Gold teams typically run showcase-heavy schedules aimed at college exposure.
How does the ERA connection work for North East Florida players?
Florida Select's Jacksonville region is coached by the same staff as Extra Rep Academy. Players have access to Discounted ERA private lessons, skills camps, and feedback at any time — the individual development that travel ball alone cannot provide. Train at ERA, compete with Florida Select. Same coaches, same standard, one system.
What divisions have your alumni played at?
Since Florida Select's founding in 2005, we have placed athletes at every level: NCAA D1, NCAA D2, NCAA D3, NCCAA D1, NAIA, and JUCO. Every athlete who wanted to continue playing in college has had the opportunity to do so. That is a twenty-year standard we take seriously and have never broken.
